Train of Thought

I'm finally getting around to listening to the new Dream Theater and I am going "WOW" all the way through. I'm simply amazed. It's total Dream Theater. It's got a feel like wakeman era yes, with all the keyboard work, but then it's got that nice hard ass metal sound, and then there's the slight groove it's got that reminds me a bit Rage Against the Machine. There's also that quality to it that makes me think of rock operas and such. Think a little about the Trans-Siberian Orchestra too. This is a whole hell of a lot of fun. It's literate, all that fun crap. I think I've got to do some mental reshuffling of what'll be on my top list for this year.

I listen to so much and buy so many albums that I have to justify it by creating a favourite albums list. I can't quite decide what'll be on it. It will take some staring. I kind of know my top three, but beyond that . . .

If you're into that sort of thing, expect that after Christmas.
