Boys from Riverside Soundtrack.
Jan. 11th, 2004 11:24 pmOkay, this has been in the back of my mind for a while now. I've been thinking about what songs really work with this series of stories.
As of now: Bad Company's "Shooting Star," Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" and "Learning to Fly", Portishead's "Glory Box", Otis Redding's "Dock of the Bay," T-Rex's "(Bang A Gong) Get It On" Rod Stewart's "Maggie May." The Who's "Behind Blue Eyes" and "Love, Reign O'er Me", The Cure's "Pictures of You", A Perfect Circle's "The Noose," and Dobie Gray's "Drift Away." Wilson Pickett's "Mustang Sally" might be nice to add in there as well. I dunno
I'm sure there's more, but I can't remember them off hand. I know, it seems like a pretty ordinary group of songs, and the Bad Company startled me when I kept going back to it on the Wonderland SDTK. Good songs though.
I most likely won't use them in text, other than what's mentioned in passing or as apart of the story, like Portishead in Ron's Rock Opera or "Dock of the Bay" in Coming Home.
I'll keep adding more as I go along, I'm sure. It'll most likely be stuff that influences me or just hits me as a Paul song or Jake song or whatever. It's a shame that the Freaky Greeks on Cannabis only exist in my mind . . .
Then again, a mixed disc like this might make a decent gift or something to a select group. I dunno.
